FCE阅读部分包含3 parts，共30小题。做题时间总共是1小时，总分30分，占总分值的20%。阅读有3 部分，每部分有一篇字数在550-700的文章，3篇加起来大概在2000个字左右。这些文章大多选材于报刊杂志文章，报道，小说，广告，书信，和一些信息资料(如小册子，导游书和手册)。

今天瑞尔英语小编将带领大家从轻便语法知识内容的补充开始，到实际运用解决长难句。

轻便语法知识的补充：

1. 主干表达的是句子的核心内容，因此掌握了主干也就掌握了长句的主旨。

2. 在长难句中，主干寻找的难点在于核心的谓语动词(因为主语一般都是句子的第一个名词概念比较容易识别)。

3. 核心谓语：一个句子有且只有一个核心谓语动词，其他动词皆为不同形态下的修饰内容。

记住了上面的语法规则后，我们来实战体验一下长难句是怎样被分析清楚的。

第一个例句：

One proposed explanation for this event is that when the first Americans migrated over from Asia, they hunted the megafauna to extinction.

在这个句子中，我们首先要做出几个分割

第一，that引导的后面的语句是一个分句;

第二，这个分句内还包含着一个由when引导的时间状语从句。

所以综上，本句话的结构如下：

主干语句：One proposed explanation for this event is that ... 一个被提出的对于这个事件的解释就是...(proposed是过去分词表修饰)

表语从句内容：when the first Americans migrated over from Asia, they hunted the megafauna to extinction. 当第一批美国人从亚洲穿越移民过来，他们捕杀了大型动物直至其灭绝。

再来看第二个例句：

These people, known as the Clovis society after a site where their distinctive spear points were first found, would have been able to use this food source to expand their population and fill the continent rapidly.

根据上文当中，我们对于语句内容的分析，我们可以再次做出下面的分割。

第一，known as 这一句是插入语，表内容补充;

第二，在这个插入语中还包含着一个定语从句，由where进行引导修饰。
